As Program Manager, Maya Gray supports the implementation and effectiveness of programs delivered across our partner schools. She works closely with the Literacy pillar in our Aspiring Teachers programming.

Maya Gray is a native of Dallas, Texas, and knew at an early age that she wanted to be an educator. Her love for learning and helping others was instilled by her parents and shaped by her own experiences as a student in Dallas ISD. With a career spanning almost two decades, she is unwavering in her pursuit to give every child the education they deserve.

Maya received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clark Atlanta University. There, she was introduced to the idea of using education as a vehicle to promote positive change and transform communities. While teaching in Fulton County Schools, Uplift Education, and Dallas ISD, she obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from Nova Southeastern University. Her experiences as a teacher, interventionist, and gifted and talented specialist taught her that children learn best when given space and opportunities to creatively express their thinking. Her most recent work as a literacy instructional coach reinforced the belief that all children can learn regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

In her free time, Maya enjoys journaling, dancing, music, basketball, and football. She loves spending time with her husband and four children, who constantly inspire and challenge her to be the best version of herself.

Maya is elated to join United to Learn and is most excited about empowering a future generation of educators. She hopes that her impact will equip aspiring teachers to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and life-long learners.
