What Is the Aspiring Teachers Program?

The United to Learn (U2L) Aspiring Teachers program connects motivated high school and college students with rewarding tutoring opportunities in Dallas ISD elementary schools.

United to Learn’s Aspiring Teachers program is a collaborative effort with Dallas ISD elementary and high schools, local colleges, and universities. The program equips aspiring educators with classroom experience while providing immediate literacy support for elementary school students.

Our Impact: 62% of students grew at least one grade level in reading during the 2024-2025 school year.

Why Become an Aspiring Teacher?

  • Earn $20/hour* (up to 20 hours weekly)
  • Receive specialized training in early literacy best practices and classroom engagement

*$20/hour is the rate for college students. Different rates apply for high school students and retired teachers.
